a) You join us and everything's fine
b) You don't join us but you blow your colony on 3:8:15 and leave it to us and we will tolerate your presence in our home system
c) You don't join us and dont give anything, we declare war on you and I'll tell all my members (3 just on this solar system but more to come) to attack you like there's no tomorrow.
